Omar’s life in the refugee camp has been an adventure. An orphan from the civil unrest in Somalia, he is put into a refugee camp, Dadaab, with his brother, Hassan. Their story captures the life in refugee camps; the hopeful moments, the hopeless ones, the joyful ones, the tragic ones. But all you can do is wait. And hope. This powerful story is a great read, and I hope that you find it as fun to read as I did!Omar’s life in the refugee camp has been an adventure. Cassie, one of the few survivors, has struggled her way through each of the waves. And with each wave, something has been taken from her. Her entire family, gone, as well as most of the other humans. The first of a great series, Paolini’s Eragon is one of the greatest books of all time. Eragon is hunting the Spine when he comes across a mysterious sapphire rock. This rock turns out to be a dragon egg, one of the last in existence. When the dragon is born, it bonds itself to Eragon and chooses the name Saphira. However, the mad King Galbatorix has been tracking the egg and sends his evil servants, the Ra'zac to hunt him down. Eragon is sent on the run as he strives to find answers and exact vengeance on the Ra’zac. I loved this book and its new magic rules. I also loved the fantasy aspect and the ancient language that Paolini incorporated into his book. Would highly recommend it!The first of a great series, Paolini’s Eragon is one of the greatest books of all time. Eragon is hunting the Spine when he comes across a mysterious sapphire rock. As a villain known as Nightmare, she plots to take down the hero organization that failed her family. She has infiltrated their system and become Insomnia, joining a squad to keep order in the city. However, she is becoming attached to the squad leader, Adrian, who just so happens to be the son of the Renegade’s leaders. Journalist Mark Bowden documents the heartrending Battle of Mogadishu in this book, Black Hawk Down, A Story of Modern War. It is 1993, and Somalia has fallen into chaos. Mohamed Farrah Aidid, a local warlord, has been declared an outlaw. Task Force Ranger has been sent to hunt him down and take him in. But when things go horribly wrong, the US task force finds themselves trapped. Will they be able to survive? I loved this book. It is incredibly emotional, immersive, and action-packed. Because it is non-fiction, it was able to accurately depict the horrors of war and the fact that there will be losses. It is not like any other battle book that I have read before, and it was amazing. I would really recommend it!Journalist Mark Bowden documents the heartrending Battle of Mogadishu in this book, Black Hawk Down, A Story of Modern War. It is 1993, and Somalia has fallen into chaos.
