Comment
Add a CommentAlthough this book bears a few similarities to Riordan's much more well-known Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, the first book in the series breathes new life into mythology that's over five millennia old.
Going through the beginnings of the Kane siblings' discovery of ancient Egyptian magic, the author is able to inject his signature dry humor told through a shifting first-person perspective. By changing the character from whose point of view the story is told, the reader quickly gets a sense of their own feelings and their mutual relationship.
This book is both entertaining and informative, and is the perfect length to keep you occupied for an entire afternoon.
The Red Pyramid is a book that follows brother and sister Carter and Sadie Kane. At the British Museum, Julius, Carter and Sadie’s father, sets loose Set, the Egyptian God of Chaos and gets trapped in the Rosetta Stone. Their uncle, Amos, comes to take the siblings and to their family mansion. The book continues to show the adventures of Carter and Sadie along with Egyptian mythology!
I really enjoyed this book. It is a perfect mix of adventure and action with Egyptian mythology. Personally, I really like Egyptian mythology, so if you also like it I would recommend this book to you!
This book has an ending that will leave you waiting to read the next book but it's just not quite a cliffhanger. Sadie and Carter learn about magic, the house of life and how their family is connected to the ancient Egyptian gods. I highly recommend this title for fans of Percy Jackson. If you haven't read Percy Jackson yet I recommend reading it. This book is also good for fans of mythology, fantasy and other books by Rick Riordan.

I love the Kane Chronicles so much! Just like I loved saying the Latin words from The Heroes of Olympus series, I love saying the Egyptian spells to myself.
