At the last party of the summer, Claudia overhears the epic breakup of Paige and Iris, the it-couple at her school. Now she's on the wrong side of one of the meanest girls in school. When the two are paired up to write a paper-- and both are forced to try out for the school production of A Midsummer Night's Dream-- it's the start of an eye-opening senior year. Then there's Gideon, the goofiest, cutest boy Claudia has ever known. In a world of intense friendships and tentative romance, maybe Claudia will find some things worth sticking her neck out for.
Claudia agrees to coach actors in her high school's production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream," leading to new friendships--and maybe even new love.

This book makes me want to read the author's other titles, so I think it's definitely a winner! All the characters are dynamic and the humor works. It does fall into a couple of tropes, but it doesn't linger in them long enough to present too much of a problem.

I completely adore this book. It read it super fast. I will say I feel like one of the characters is unnecessarily rude. There's no explanation or reasoning that I took from the story to support why she's that way towards everyone . And the main characters love interest wasn't my favorite, however i did really like seeing our main character make new friends and grow into herself a little more.

Foolish Hearts by Emma Mills is about Claudia, a teen who goes to Prospect-Landower School for girls. She has lots of friend's, and has a tendency to eavesdrop on others. When she is caught eavesdropping on the schools ‘it-couple’, she is in deep water.
I thought that Foolish Hearts was a great LGBTQ YA novel. It included not only LGBTQ characters, but showed how society reacts to them. This book was also very comedic and written very well. I actually read the book in 1 day! I would recommend this book to any teen who needs a good, romantic laugh!
