This underground epic, which breaks every rule of good filmmaking and good taste, set a benchmark for the bizarre that has never been equaled. Babs Johnson, a trailer park bon vivant proudly claims the title of the filthiest person alive. The envy of every neighborhood degenerate, it isn't long before another couple set their sights on Divine's legacy, and in the proud American tradition, competition forces each contender to outdo the other.

Pink Flamingos' reeking and totally rancid story about human-slime and criminal sleaze is clearly set on the gutter-level side of the the city of Baltimore, Maryland (circa. 1972).

Completed of a piddly $10,000 budget by bargain-basement director, John Waters - "Pink Flamingos" stars tubby transvestite, Harris Milstead (aka. "Divine") as Babs Johnson who, literally, bulldozes his/her way through his/her role, taking every opportunity possible to live up to his/her well-deserved reputation as being "The Filthiest Person Alive"..... (Uh... Need I say more??)

One of the all time great films that does not go by Hollywood standards. John Waters pulls off this great flick with very little budget & a very good soundtrack....Who is the filthiest person alive ? is the question to be asked. Watching the movie you make the call. Also check out the famous Egg Lady & Babs Johnson...you will fall in love all over again. 10 stars out of 10

This is one of the sickest movies I've ever seen. I mean that as a compliment. One of John Waters's earliest and most notorious films.

With deliberate intent to shock, offend, outrage and disgust, director John Waters, succeeded, like no one else, in producing one of the most notorious cult films ever made. And, it was done, thankfully, for once, without the use of buckets of blood, or excessive gore._____ Yes. Pink Flamingos may, indeed, be shocking and offensvie, but, by the same token, it is genuinely funny in a very twisted and distasteful sort of way. I mean, this film was obviously not meant to satisfy everyone's palate._____ Pink Flamingos stars real-life transvestite "Divine" (aka. Harris Milstead) as Babs Johnson, a big, bloated, sleaze, known far and wide as "The Filthiest Person Alive"._____ Trust me, this is one film that you really need to see to believe._____ Released in 1972 this bona-fide b-grade, cult classic was produced on a skimpy $10,000 budget. It has since earned an amazing $6 million in the USA, alone.

You're either going to this is utterly disgusting and laugh your ass off, or you're going to think this is utterly disgusting and throw your TV out the window.

Either way, there is no denying that Pink Flamingos is a movie you just won't forget.
