"A missing woman receives a second chance at life, thanks to her billionaire husband--but the consequences are deadly in this gripping psychological thriller from the New York Times bestselling author of The Girl Before. Abbie awakens in a daze with no memory of who she is or how she landed in this unsettling condition. The man by her side claims to be her husband. He's an icon of the tech world, the founder of a lucrative robotics company. He tells Abbie that she is a gifted artist, an avid surfer, a loving mother to their young son, and the perfect wife. He says she had a terrible accident five years ago, and that, through a huge technological breakthrough, she has been brought back from the abyss. She is a miracle of science. But as Abbie pieces together memories of her marriage, she begins questioning her husband's motives--and his version of events. Can she trust him when he says he wants them to be together forever? And what really happened to Abbie half a decade ago?"-- Provided by publisher.

A rather unique rendering of sci-fi, AI and obsession. At times, somewhat confusing; however, it was an interesting look at what might be in store for humans in the future...hopefully the NOT near future.

Very weird and couldn't get into it at all. I enjoy a good thriller but this didn't do it for me; having said that I am not into sci-fi. Found myself skipping pages to get through it. Was basically bored reading it and couldn't wait to read something else.

I had trouble getting into this book and was about to forget it when it started to come together and I was hooked.
It won't be everyone's kind of book but I found it interesting with twists here and there. Completely different from my usual crime/mystery/murder books.

The subject has so much potential!
Yet how do you mess that up?
Must have ignored their editor.

Eyewatering boring.

This psychological thriller leaves you way more to ponder than just who did it. Abbie wakes from what appears to be an accident. Her brilliant husband is the leading authority on AI. She was an avid surfer and an accomplished artist. But she's not who she thinks she is. She has all the memories and emotions of Abbie. She even looks like her... but she's only a copy of the real Abbie. Does this mean she has Abbie's soul? She can paint like Abbie, but it's missing something. And what happened to Abbie? If her husband built her, can she really trust all her emotions and memories? This book will be hard to put down and will leave you questioning what the role of AI could mean in our own lives.

Wow what an interesting read. I have long been a fan of the newish genre of suspense novels and this book was no exception. It was an interesting twist on the genre, with a surprise in the first chapter that I can't give away, but it was a current theme through out the book. It was face paced, often shocking, switching between the past and the present, all leading to a thrilling and surprising climax. Read with an open mind and you will enjoy the surprise and suspense of this book

Thought provoking on so many levels. Loved it!

A psychological suspense involving Artificial intelligence (AI) and autism in the form of childhood disintegrative disorder (CDD).

Tim Scott founder of Scott Robotics has spent five years developing a cobot - a companion robot - to replace his deceased wife Abbie. The Abbie cobot has emotions as well as the real Abbie's memories. She also has the ability to gather information instantly and form conclusions she can act upon. What happened to 'real' Abbie that her autistic son, Danny, would be left behind with his father Tim?

I won't spoil the plot with further details but it is a very interesting reading experience. I highly recommend this book!

Don't bother with this contrivance. The mystery is how so much hogwash can sell. If you can get beyond the 3rd chapter, you are a real reader.

A very creative story line. It grabs you from the start and doesn't let go until the every end.
