This book reminds me of working in libraries! A young girl, Jamie, makes a bad choice and the consequence is community service hours at the local public library. By the end of her time at the library, she has changed her views about school, her bad decision and the fallout from it, and the library.

This is a love story to libraries. If you have ever wanted to know what it's like to work in one, read this. It is so accurate and the characters are so relatable.

This was a very fast read that, unlike most kids' books set in libraries, was clearly written by someone who actually knows how libraries work. As a librarian, I found that aspect of it super enjoyable; the story is a bit on the light side since almost all of the action takes place in the library, and the fact that the main character's relationship with her mom plays almost no role in this seemed odd to me. However, these complaints aside, I did find this to be a breezy, enjoyable read -- and anything affirming the value of libraries is worthwhile for me!
