So sorry to hear this series has ended as it is still one of the best we've seen. But I suppose it would have to. Difference between British & American series (usually): The Brits stop when it's still good & fresh; American TV tries to milk it even after it's dead.

This last installment closes the circle on this unique series of collaboration between French and British police detectives. Mainly it's been about the relationship between Dillaine and Poesy. But actors dance around the fact that they like and respect each other, and feel passionately about their jobs. Patience is necessary to understand their dance, but I am sorry that this series is not continuing.

It is the final season that involved one lengthy new major crime and a nine year old cold case. While the central theme was on the challenges faced by children of all sorts, it included thoughtful queries on crimes committed by civilians who suffered PTSD after "survived" equal if not much worse circumstances than soldiers in wars. Lighter moments came from contrasting a few differences between French and British laws based on their cultural views. Last, rare long dramatic scenic shots above and below the White Cliffs of Dover at Kent.

Note: e6 showed an abandoned tunnel in the Cliff at Samphire Hoe with what looked to be a well maintained road on the seawall at 51.1040 N. 1.2705 E. according to the script. However, can't find exact images in the net. Near the end of "Making of the Tunnel," the site appears to a product of their fantastic production designers... fooled me.

What a disappointment in what was a great story line.
Season 3, 2 discs and there is no ending, each episode was like it left off in the middle of a story!
Boo!

SPOILER ALERT - The secret sauce in the film:

Just wondering if he was given something to make him compliant.
-Like what?
In Bogota now, apparently, you want to rob someone, you just blow a bit of scopolamine around and the tourists run to the ATM and hand over their money quite happily.
-You don't need guns, it's brilliant.
That's an urban myth.
-It would explain the gas mask. It's very fine dust. You need something to protect yourself.

Are the British people who live by the sea less religious?
-Yeah. There's more oxygen so their brains work better.

You want to tell him the truth?
-Isn't it every child's right to know?
Not in France. Once a child is adopted, it's the parent's choice to tell or not. The State doesn't interfere with parenting. Another great gulf between our nations.

I may have done the wrong thing but for the right fxuckin' reasons.

We don't negotiate with terrorists. Especially the way you Brits negotiate.
===
Let's get this over with and then... you can tell me the French for "I told you so".

You know the most important sexual organ in the human body? The mind. If that is broken, so is everything else.

James Herbert was a British horror writer from the nineteen-seventies. A heady mixture of soft porn and giant rats.
