In 2009 three young men were killed in a remote area of Yellowstone National Park. Only hours later, Dwayne Nelson walked into a ranger station miles away and confessed to the crime. Despite his detailed confession, Nelson went free because of a loophole in the American Constitution. Documentarian Julian T. Pinder travels to Yellowstone in a chase for truth behind a crime that should have rocked the nation. How did the United States Constitution let a guilty man go free?

Three stars is my average of two rating.
First half, that I thought was a documentary, was interesting.
Then, when things got to the point where I started questioning if it was real, I interrupted the movie to check on the internet, only to find it was one of those found footage movies (like the Blair Witch), I lost some interest.
Interesting watch, and is based on actual law, but not actual events.

I kept wondering why the film maker gave himself so much screen time. A good part of the way through this documentary, I realized that he and the other characters were actors... which made me feel stupid. If it was a true documentary it would have been fascinating, but in the end, it's a morality message against fracking and how murdering frackers' children is what you get when you're so evil.

So I rented this thinking it was a documentary, but it wasn't... just a "mockumentary" It was well done, in fact, it's done so much like a true crime documentary that I didn't realize until about halfway through that it was fake.... the legal facts they talk about are real though, and that is very disturbing! I would recommend, but just know that it's a fiction movie and not a documentary!
