5 stars: "It's cute, it's fun, and it has really dumb things in it."
- Roslyn, age 8, reluctant reader

These brothers know how to put adventure into their day. A fun read -- with four chapters! Recipient of the 2018 Theodor Seuss Geisel Award for the most distinguished book for beginning readers.

An easy reader that tells a lovely and funny story! These are rare, but this one hits the mark!

This would be a good book regardless, it is a great book because of the outfits these brothers wear to the neighborhood party.
Mouse wears cowboy boots, a tutu, and a bug antennae headband?
Charlie wears boy clothes, a princess hat and carries a magic wand.
Kids will love a chapter that begins, "I wish I had some money. I wish I had some money too. How can we get some money?"

Charlie & Mouse is an excellent book for kids transitioning from "Early Readers" to "Chapter Books". The story is broken up into four easy "Chapters" with new vocabulary, and upper level content (irony, satire). Yet it is still nicely illustrated and has all the standard early reader format (repetition, simple grammar and punctuation). The plot is a warm and humorous story of the day in the life of two brothers Charlie and Mouse.
