Recorded in 1962 and released in 1963, "Money Jungle" is a one of a kind collaboration between Duke Ellington, Charles Mingus, and drummer Max Roach. Apparently Ellington and Mingus clashed, but that's not reflected in the music, which was influential on a generation of jazz musicians. This reissue contains 4 alternate takes.

A landmark in Jazz History - the astounding trio of Duke Ellington on piano, Max Roach on drums and a very young but already snarling Charles Mingus. Solitude and Caravan and much more. Ellington in front Mingus is a delight to hear. Especially humorous is that Mingus complained the Duke's left was too loud and drowned out his bass playing. Charles.
