From the star of TLC's My Big Fat Fabulous Life comes an empowering memoir about letting go of your limitations and living the life you deserve. Whitney Way Thore stands five feet two and weighs well over 300 pounds, and she is totally, completely, and truly ... happy. But she wasn't always the vivacious, confident woman you see on TV. Growing up as a dancer, Whitney felt the pressure to be thin, a desire that grew into an obsession as she got older. From developing an eating disorder as a teenager, to extreme weight gain in college, to her ongoing struggle with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), Whitney reveals her fight to overcome the darkest moments in her life. She holds nothing back, opening up about the depths of her depression as well as her resilience in the face of constant harassment and mistreatment. Now Whitney is on top of the world and taking no BS (Body Shame, of course). And she's sharing the steps she took to get there and the powerful message behind her successful No Body Shame campaign. Exuberant and utterly honest, this is the inspiring story of how Whitney finally discovered her fabulousness when she stepped off the scale and into her life, embracing herself unconditionally--body, heart, and soul.--Adapted from dust jacket.

Sorry I just couldn't finish this one. Whitney spends most of the book playing the victim and the writing is choppy and repetitive. I only got about 60 pages in before I called it quits.

This book was just OK for me, I expected it to be more like her TV show and it wasn't. It was a lot of playing the victim, complaining and whining. The story sequence didn't follow the sequence of the TV show so that threw me off a little bit. I love Whitney I think she is super funny and very positive but that was not the case in the book. Rock on Whitney!!!

Life DOESN'T get better for anybody just because they got fat. Maybe she got a better job or whatever but she cant blame that on being fat. Body positivity actually does promote obesity. Just look online. Plus size bloggers and fat people in general are starting to not wanna lose weight anymore. And its because of people like her.
