It's been a while since I read this book but I remember thinking it was one of the most interesting books I had read in a long time. Amy Herman presents us with art masterpieces and instructs us to study them for a few minutes as thoroughly as we can. I thought I had noticed everything there was to notice in the art, but no so. It was amazing what I overlooked - and some of it was so obvious. There are also illusion pictures presented (ex: where you either see a goblet or profiles of two people). This book is so fascinating and full of interesting facts and I have forgotten so much of it that I will definitely be reading it again in the near future.

I see things very differently after reading this book. By using art to train the eyes to see details, a whole new world opens up.
