This one would have to be my favourite books. It’s fast-paced and there was hardly ever a dull moment
The characters were so real it’s as if they came to life while I was reading. I could see myself and many people I know in these characters. Even though the characters are in a position where we could never find ourselves being in.
This book may seem like your typical cliched romance. But it’s really so much more than that. It’s about overcoming the obstacles we place on ourselves. Opening up to the ones we’re supposed to count on the most. And most of all being comfortable with who we are and learning to enjoy the good life brings us and how to endure the bad. Not only that it gives you a fresh take on dysfunctional family. This book shows that communication is vital for a strong family bond.
The only negative thing I can find in this book is the lack of mythology in it. It doesn’t go into much detail about the sirens. I would have liked to read more about the mythology behind the sirens. 4/5 stars

An interesting concept with a nice quick pace. This book was good for a leisurely read.

Omigosh, this book is incredible!!!
I absolutely love it! Plz read it!
Warning: the whole thing about sirens drowning people is pretty disturbing. This book is suitable for mature 12 year olds and up.

I really liked this book and the ways it told the story....
It was really interesting reading about how Kiera Cass discribed a siren
😍❤️❤️

This was an absolutely fantastic book, I highly recommend reading it. Although the book is a standalone I really got attached to the characters, I really felt their pains and sorrows.

Some solid, cheesy romance. Kinda reads like a fan fiction.

Awesome book! It was a different light on what a siren is. There were so much emotion that broke my heart a few times. Kept you on your toes too. But overall great book! Go read it!

I would say The Siren hit all the right notes for a young adult book. Although the plot tells a love story, it didn’t dwell on the romance theme from cover to cover. Instead, it developed other interesting themes like friendship and sisterhood. Its characterization is interesting and definitely sets it apart from other books I’ve read. I especially loved what the author did with the character Ocean, giving you the not-quite-a-villain sort of twist. The basic gist of the book is that sirens are mermaid-like beings that have irresistible voice and beauty, and the Ocean keeps them as daughters (or prisoners) to use their assets to lure people into the waters and kill them. Kahlen is one of the sirens; she obeyed the ocean in every way until she met Akinli. This may sound like the cliche star crossed lovers, but the book goes a lot more in-depth than that. I would recommend this to everyone who loves a well-written and fast-paced young adult novel. It will not disappoint. 4/5 Cathy, grade 10, of the Yorba Linda Teen Book Bloggers

Silly and implausible but kind of sweet all the same.
