Unlike most people today, I like a good western.

New GOOD westerns are difficult to find. But I found this one, and it's really good. Simple premise with a couple of "uh-oh" unexpected turns. Some interesting greed/emerging energy/western history subplots, aren't allowed to interfere, but just lend authenticity to the story.

Good, minimalist writing, very good cinematography--evocative sets (shootout in a burned-out town!) and the final frame, over which some end credits play, a slow Tells you TONS about what happened AFTER this drama had played out. Has you thinking!

Get this: while two of the actors here are familiar to American TV viewers (Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Walking Dead; Jonathan Pryce, Game of Thrones) others are European...and no American movie company ties--It's a UK-Danish-South African production shot in South Africa. Truly a World movie!

And a good one.

DARK, INTENSE Western -- I've not seen anything like it within the genre! Moments in the film are visually striking -- interesting what happens when you shoot a western not in America....

The movie as a whole is good, not great, but Mads Mikkelsen elevates it, as does Morgan who plays one of the better frothing Western villains we've seen in awhile.

A Western packed with most essentials of a Western: American wild west in the 1870s (filmed in South Africa,) ruthless outlaws, the stagecoach, steam locomotive, a sheriff, a jail, frontier characters, land grabs, black gold, heroes (Danish immigrants,) villains, damsels, ... and even some words on the natives. Missing scenes were the naked prostitutes. just dead bodies of the good, the bad, the innocent and those labeled as "You're not even a man." Engaging eventful thriller.

This movie was really about nothing.....not much explanation and back stories.....pointless movie. Not very good. I am to sure what movie the other people watched. This is not a good Western at all. Disappointed.

Haven't seen a good western in a looooong time. Well the wait is over. Salvation is here. The good guy does his thing. The bad guy really does his thing. No grey lines here. It all makes for great story.

A western from Denmark set in the wild west of the US. Worth a watch.

A somewhat typical Clint Eastwood movie without Eastwood.

Similar to the style of the original Django, this is a Danish western well worth the watch. You won't find anything new. It's just a good ol revenge western starring the fantastic Mads Mikkelsen.

Seriously, the guy's name is Mads. That's cool. So is this film. And so is his take on Hannibal. Go get all three of those too.

I thought you got them all.
-She's coming with me.
You think you and your brother are gonna fight Delarue on your own?
-No, my brother is dead.
Look.. I'm just trying to make a good living, you know. That's all. I'm a businessman.
-You're not even a man.
He saved you from them Indians. But he never did straighten you out.
I don't know what happened to him. He used to be a good man. I guess killing all those Indians for us, must've... Unsettled his mind.
Sometimes you gotta sacrifice a single sheep, to save the rest. I'm just a shepherd,
guarding his flock.
