The epitome of the postmodern comic hero. Has never been bettered. The only detriment is Marvel's slight editing of the original Impulse comics, but this is very minor and doesn't interfere with the amazing impact Moore's body of work--especially these six issues--have had on modern culture. Essential reading for anyone at all interested in the genre.

The addition of the two stories in All-New Miracleman Annual #1 is fun but by no means essential. A fine bonus--probably included so that old-timers like me who had the original Impulse graphic novels would have to double-dip.

The final battle with Bates is haunting and wonderfully gory. Made up for the before and after parts, which were let-downs.
