I was sick of Faye's whining about her pregnancy by page 50. I read as far as page 202, but when I picked up the book the next morning to finish it, I got depressed just looking at it. Repeated, repeated, repeated clues. Rehash of clues, then repeat of the rehash. (And don't forget that pregnancy is hard.) I stopped trying to read the translation because the font was so hard to read (wouldn't a person with a PhD in anything know that dyslexia is a wide spread issue, even among devoted readers?) Oh, did I mention that pregnancy is hard and whining about it is a big part of this story? Did I mention that she points out her husband is super cute, and WAY younger than her at least six times? And she is pregnant? There may have been value in the last 102 pages, but I will never know.

While I think she has a good story to tell, her writing is really terrible. I really can't believe she is a PH.d published author. I finally had to stop reading this book because I had to keep re-reading to understand what she was trying to impart. I'm fairly critical of writing so perhaps I am a bit
judgemental; however, her credentials would give a perspective reader the idea that she knows how to write and structure sentences clearly to be understood.

I do like the history and the descriptions of place in Evans' books. Faye's constant reminder of how attractive Joe is gets tiresome, but otherwise a good basic, interesting story.
