Having just read two non-fiction books about the Supreme Court, I found the subject of court clerking fun to read. The main character is hard-working and very ambitious, so potential love interests arise only at the edges of the plot. The story has a mild what-will-happen-next quality to keep the pages turning, and explores ethics and politics on the higher courts.
