After Emily and the gang survive an attack from Max, Max once again promises to the Elf King that he will destroy all stonekeepers, including Emily, but once they meet, Max forces Emily to enter a void with him in hopes to destroy the voice within their stones. In doing so, Maxās darkest secrets are revealed to Emily. As for Emilyās brother Navin, he and some of his classmates enter the city of Lucien with hopes to repair the communications beacon as a way to help them in fighting the Elf King, but turns out it may not be as easy as it seemed. Unlike all the previous books, I would rate this a full 5/5. Although the book starts off slow, the pace quickly picks up and is intense throughout. This keeps the readers, like me, interested throughout the book, causing myself to read this whole book in one sitting without realizing until the end, leaving me wanting more. @Aylos of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board
Couldn't get as into the story with this episode as I have with others.
This book was very interesting to read! Navin who is Emily's brother is constantly late for his lectures in school, which he gets a suspension from, and gets a yellow glove so he cannot operate any of the high tech equipment. Everyone is trying to escape from the forgotten city that was taken by the shadows. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who likes suspense!
I am actually happy Navin's doing some work
emily's brother navin is expelled from the only thing that meaned the most to him. flight school. he jumps back in and saves the school though and the world by helping emily and their elf friend trellis and another elf friend to destroy the elf ship. the people are in rage, and the ship is in pieces. many many pieces.....
as Navin and a couple of his classmates take the journey to the war ravaged city of Lucien, Emily prepares for battle as the elf army attacks. who will win?
