Do you constantly struggle to pull information from your son, student, or athlete, only to encounter mumbling or evasive assurances such as "It's nothing "or "I'm good?" Do you sense that the boy you care about is being bullied, but that he'll do anything to -- What you'll find in Masterminds and Wingmen actually experiencing - his on-the-ground reality. Not only does Wiseman challenge you to examine your assumptions, she offers innovative coping strategies aimed at helping your boy develop a positive, authentic, and strong sense of self.

more than anything, this book is about communicating, and understanding the sometimes unfamiliar ways in which adolescent boys communicate (or don't) what they are going through.

Although many of the situations are quite limited to suburban, middle class culture, they can be unpacked and applied beyond the limits of the scope.

For parents who communicate well, and are engaged with their kids, you're doing fine.

This clever book gives you a key to understanding boys' attitudes and behaviors. I learned a lot about social mechanisms that rule boys' social universe.
