Jack Reacher. The ultimate loner. An elite ex-military cop who left the service years ago, he's moved from place to place-without family-without possessions-without commitments. And without fear. Which is good, because trouble-big, violent, complicated trouble-finds Reacher wherever he goes. And when trouble finds him, Reacher does not quit, not once-not ever. But some unfinished business has now found Reacher. And Reacher is a man who hates unfinished business. Ten years ago, a key investigation went sour and someone got away with murder. Now a chance encounter brings it all back. Now Reacher sees his one last shot. Some would call it vengeance. Some would call it redemption. Reacher would call it-justice. Jack Reacher takes an undercover assignment to investigate the disappearance of a federal agent from the home of a notorious drug dealer, but Reacher soon discovers that the dealer has ties to a man from Reacher's own past.

Lone Wolf Reacher actually working as part of a team. True he is trying to rectify a past mistake, when you try to kill someone especially with a .22 pistol be very sure they are dead. The locale is very film noir, only shades of grey and you will feel like you are on Shutter Island. A very different novel in the Reacher series

This book really kept me interested. One of Childs best

The Persuader has a lot of fights and shootouts. It's kind of like Dark Shadows, but with guns and some sexual violence.

I have only read one other Jack Reacher novel so far, The Hard Way, and I like this book second-best.

Lots of clever suspense. Good job by Lee Childs with this one.

Great addition to the Reacher series. Fast-paced with lots of action.

What a story! All of the puzzle pieces fit so neatly! Expect to read a lot about handguns (a Persuader is the name of a gun) and about hand to hand moves to take out a person. I never knew that fist fighting could be so deadly. Here, Reacher is like the pink energizer bunny...he just keeps on going and stopping him in a fight. In this story, Reacher is able to get his revenge on someone from his past while helping federal agents release their kidnapped undercover agent held by this very same person. He does this by going undercover. He gets hired by the racketeers who are selling handguns on the black market to druggies, terrorists, etc. After much action, Reacher eventually puts them out of business. Sad to see how a family of a criminal can be affected by the father's actions/decisons.

Intense. Compare the fist duel in this book with the one in Stieg Larsson's
"The Girl Who Played with Fire". Both involved a super strong opponent.

Thrilling and suspenseful. Lee Child always gets it right!

In his usual drifter way Reacher finds himself on the wrong side of the law and acting as a bodyguard to a family that is keeping far more secrets then its rug trading fortune warrants.

When Reacher digs deeper he discovers a link to his past as an army MP that makes him focus on his new mission.
