Add a SummaryThe summary of the book Auggie and Me written by R.J. Palacio tells the story of three children, each viewing their mind from different positions. The first story, called The Julian Chapter, recalls on the story of a young boy named Julian, and why he bullied an innocent, harmless, nice kid named Auggie. The second story called Pluto tells the story of another boy named Chris who knew August since they were babies. It tells the family's past, how everyone played, acted, and cared for everyone else.
The third and last story called Shingaling is a story remarking on a girl named Charlotte making different friends while trying to stay in company with her old friends, enemies, and specifically, girl drama. Read this book to find out how each of these people reacted to each of his/her own problems!

Add a CommentIn Auggie and Me, you get to read the point of view from side characters of the book Wonder. In Charlotte’s point of view you learn a lot about her life behind school. In Julian’s point of view you learn why he was always mean to Auggie, and he was a bully in general. In Christopher’s point of view, you learn about Auggie’s life before he started going to school. You also will find out about the close bond Christopher, and Auggie had before Christopher moved away. It brings a whole new perspective to the book Wonder. Fans of Wonder will definitely not be able to put this book down, once started.
This book is a wonderful companion to Wonder by Palacio but must be read after Wonder. It took the author a while to write this book and I found it useful to wait a bit after reading Wonder to read this book.
Three different, secondary characters from Wonder are narrators of the different sections of the book. Julian, the boy who taunted Auggie, narrates the first part of the book and the readers see him as a much more complex person that we would have imagined. Christopher was Auggie's best friend from toddler times until Chris moved away. Charlotte helped show Auggie around the first day of school and stayed friendly with him, but not as friendly as Summer was. Empathy, kindness and trust are strong themes in the chapter narrated by Charlotte.
I found the section about Julian at times sad and the part Summer narrates complex but very moving, and made me smile at the end. Big changes do not happen but life goes on, much richer as they year progressed.
The story of "Wonder" is INCOMPLETE without The Julian Chapter!!!
Pluto and especially Shingaling were nice extras, too.
"Funny how our stories intertwine. Every person's story weaves in and out of someone else's story." This is a quote from Shingaling -- the story told by Charlotte. I would contend that this quote sums up this collection of stories. They all three revolved around the story told in Wonder -- adding some new dimensions to our understanding of three of the characters we met there and either did not understand or did not get to know very well. Highly recommended!
This is a "companion book" (NOT a sequel) to Wonder. It contains chapters about Julian (who was a real jerk in Wonder; also one of Auggie's "welcome buddies" and classmates at Beecher Prep), Christopher (who was Auggie's first friend when they were babies together, but who moved away), and Charlotte (one of Auggie's "welcome buddies" and classmates at Beecher Prep).
This book is not as good as Wonder. How could it be? Wonder is one of the best books I have ever read.
Having said that, this book is interesting and quite good in its own right. It would be essential to read Wonder first. This book does not really add anything to the story of Wonder, but the stories of these other young people are interesting in their own ways. I am still not a huge Julian fan, but it was interesting to read about his perspective on the events of the previous book, and what he ended up learning from it.
This is the best book in the history of books. Palacio literally almost persuaded me to Julian's side in the story. I almost cried all over when I read the part that Darth Daisy (their dog) died. Whenever I have a sleepover, almost the EXACT SAME THING happens. Pillow fights, nerf war, secret sharing, idiotic secreted crush sharing, etc. Always the Best. I'm totally re-reading Wonder again!
This is a really great book! Auggie and Me, three Wonder Stories written by R.J.Palacio known as a sequel to another great book written by this author, Wonder. Telling the thoughts of 3 magnificent children, this book has brought all peace and equality to our world. Please enjoy reading it!

Auggie and me is about the world of August Pullman. The book is a sequel to "Wonder"
It talks about 3 different stories all relate to August. Julian the kid who bullied August, August's old friend Chris, and the smart girl in Beechers.
This is really not the sequel to the popular book "Wonder". It is a collection of three stories of the three kids in Auggie Pullman's world including the bully Julian. I recommend this book for all who loved and enjoyed "Wonder", a must read!
