Gossip Girl – nothing can keep us together by Cecily von Ziegar
Nothing can keep us together is the eighth gossip girl novel written by Cecily Von Ziegar. This book revolves around Serena, Blair, Nate, Chuck, Vanessa and Dan’s graduation. So lots of secrets and scandals are set up. In this book Serena and Blair have a lot of tension between each other because Serena and Nate are a couple. Blair feels betrayed and angry at them but Blair doesn’t want her new boyfriend Lord Marcus to see her sneaky side. Nate spends a majority of the time crying over Blair. Jenny is searching for the right boarding school. Vanessa gets carried away and juggles both Dan and Aaron. Before they graduate they try to enjoy their time together, figure out what they want and have fun.
This book is a lot like the other ones in the series but better because they are graduating so there is a bigger theme in the book. Each chapter is based on one of the teenagers and their perspective is explained through an anonymous third person; gossip girl. Some chapters can get really boring but when the drama picks up it gets really entertaining and you won’t want to put the book down. A lot happened in this book to please the reader until the ending where readers are now interested in finding out what happens at the start of college.
I really like the authors writing style. Her wording and development of the characters through the eight books are amazing. Reading Gossip girl books totally puts you into another world. There’s humor, romance and of course lots of drama. Following the relationships in the book can be tricky because there are so many on again- off again relationships but that actually makes it more interesting.
I think this book should be for girls age 14/15 and up. I rate it 3.5 stars.
