The traditional story of a miracle wrought when a rich man, who usually sleeps during synagogue, hears the words God speaks from Leviticus: "You shall bake Me twelve loaves of challah, and set them before Me in two rows, six in each row," is retold here by Rabbi Lawrence Kushner and Gary Schmidt, and illustrated by Matthew Baek. A tale of sweet beauty, best read to or with all children, whether Jewish, Protestant or Catholic. And perhaps best served with a bit of challah bread. For all those who wonder how God works, and also for all those too busy with their problems to be looking for a miracle.

In this traditional Jewish tale that never grows stale, a rich man and a poor man meet in the "sort of place miracles can happen." To be read to children of all ages, and maybe, eaten with challah. :-)
