Shortly following the end of WWII, Charlie is traveling with her mother in Europe, ostensibly to obtain a clandestine abortion in Switzerland, but Charlie's unspoken objective is actually to find out what happened to her cousin and best…

A very good read, I didn’t realize that it was based on actual events until the end, it made it all the more poignant.

it was interesting to see World War 1 & 2 woven together in one exciting story. I really loved it, but my all time favorite of this genre is still CONSPIRACY OF LIES by Kathryn Gauci.

After reading The Rose Code, I dove into The Alice Network for a book club read. The content was entirely different, and I can't quite decide which I like better, but Quinn's ability to weave a complex, character-driven yet suspenseful…

I wanted to like this book, but I didn't finish it. While it was interesting in spots, it moved very Slow. I found the characters confusing as well as some of the language barrier. I read some summaries online, and those made more…

I only got to about page 40 before giving up. Many people have loved and recommended this book so ithought I would give it a try. I usually love WWII era literature but this was boring.

This book was very "meh" for me. Sometimes the writing felt a little heavy handed. The story moves along pretty well and it's a compelling story, but the dialogue wasn't always very well written and the characters were not particularly…

Too dark and depressing for me. Stopped about 40% through.

A fantastic story about war and bravery and redemption. The characters were real, believable and very likable. I listened to the audiobook, and the narrator did a fantastic job both with reading and with the accents. I really enjoyed this…

In this book, Kate Quinn establishes herself as the queen of historical fiction. The story revolves round Eve, a first World War spy who was part of a women's spying network, called the Alice network. It links her to Charlie an unwed…

It is a terrific book. The stories about women spies in the two World wars, how women in general were treated during this time period and how people in conquered countries existed and endured during the Wars brought the people and events…

Fabulously written characters- I saw all them so clearly. I love historical fiction, this one is based on some actual female spies! Can’t wait to read more from this author

This is a great book based on some actual spies from WWI and II. I loved the relationship built up between the 19 year old pregnant woman, a world weary spy and the Scottish man who helped them both. There were no dull moments as Kate…

Too much Harlequin Romance and not enough historical fiction for me.

I absolutely devoured this book. What an incredible story that was actually based on real events from the first and second world wars. Each chapter was told from the POV of our two leading ladies- Eve, an ex-spy with mutilated hands and…

Great read! Based on real women with amazing courage who acted as a network of spies for Britain and France against German conquers, mid WW I. The author cleverly ties the mysterious spy of WWI to an American privileged teen searching for…

I have a terrible habit of comparing an author’s different works to each other and then rating them against each other accordingly. Even more so if the settings are from a similar era. My first read from KQ was The Rose Code, which I loved…

Okay, maybe too many books on WW1 and 2 -- very predictable. Maybe based on historical events but way too much talk about appearance, clothes, and the burly chauffeur.

This historical fiction, based on WW1’s actual Alice Network of spies, was full of melodramatic twists and turns, as it alternated between the WW1 story and post-WW2 story. Fast-paced and intriguing, the intertwining stories burst with…
