In spite of the childish banter for the first few pages this turned out to quite a page turner.
My main objection to many of Mr. Woods writings are the unbridled sexual innuendoes, double entendres and down-right graphic sex scenes. Such phrases as "she mounted him", "he entered her", are best saved for "Playboy". Mr. Wood is living out his sexual fantasies in his books, and airing them for public reading, and they are not suitable for what would otherwise be G-rated mysteries. In spite of the childish banter for the first few pages this turned out to quite a page turner.

I believe I've read all of Stuart Woods, and this is hands down my favorite. A great story line with identical felonious male twins staring up major troubles in Maine.
None of this tiresome show of wealth: a house in the English countryside with stables (and riding gear) plus an airfield that can can accommodate personal jets.
Houses in London City, Paris, Key West, Los Angeles, New York, and Maine. He used to have one in Connecticut.
Full staff in each home, and in New York there is an armored Bentley plus Gulfstream 500 and a Cessna.
We have been spared the all-too-graphic-and unnecessary sexual escapades in his bedrooms. He will pickup anything in a skirt, and before the sun sets, the clothes are off.
Mr. Woods has toned down discussion of female body parts. But in this book the "Chosen One" for this evening's excitement "comes striding toward him naked."
It takes essentially a G-rated book and turns it into an R.

I simply don't believe this book was written by Stuart Woods. There is nothing about it that reflects his style.
None of the usual characters are even mentioned: Joan his do-all secretary, Dino and Vivian Bucchetti (sp?), Helene his cook and housekeeper, Fred Flicker butler and driver, Herbie Fisher, Mike Freeman, Strategic Services, et. al.
Also, thankfully, none of his all-too-phonographic sexual escapades.

Enough, already, of Mr. Barrington's sex life, which Mr. Woods has taken to a pornographic level in this book. Barrington beds everyone, and we must endure graphic detail of her being "wet", breasts, nipples, crotch, his slinging one of his numerous conquests over his shoulder and carrying her upstairs.
Now in "Stealth" lesbainism is introduced and would have become a "three way" but Stone was called away unexpectedly.
And, the great show of wealth, with homes and staff in New York, Los Angeles, Connecticut, Maine, England, Paris, and if I recall, Key West. Transport by armored Mercedes or Bentley, or Porsche Cayenne, or Porsche 911, horse, and least we forget, a Gulfstream 500, which, of
course, he can pilot.
Does someone want to ride one of his fine horses at his English estate? Just press the button marked "Stable" on the phone. Riding apparel furnished if you didn't bring your own.
Dinner for ten tonight will be in the estate's small dining room.
And then in his next book, Mr. Barrington is all but broke, and Joan is concerned about all the bills that must be paid.
Mr. Woods, it appears, is living his life vicariously through Stone Barrington, and I wish he'd tone it down.Enough, already, of Mr. Barrington's sex life, which Mr. Woods has taken to a pornographic level in this book. Just another tiresome spy read. If Stuart Woods had a hand in this, I never saw it.
Teddy Fay, the master of disguise with unbridled energy and nine lives, is better suited for a teenager's book.
I tend to stay away from co-authored books, but made an exception here because Stuart Woods is my favorite author. I should have listened to my inner voice.
